DESIGN EFFECTS INTERNATIONAL WORKING WITH NOTED ARCHITECTS
The building was to represent all the peoples and tribes of the region,
to tell the story of their history and to utilise as many local craftsmen as possible.
Much time was spent researching local cultures and heritage and then working with leaders and tribal chiefs to assign workers and artists to assist with the storytelling. Local art objects like the woven baskets served as inspiration
for an acoustic dome and the detailed mosaic floor inlays. The local
history was depicted in massive hand embroidered wall hanging.
